I'm
especially fond of this one because it won me the "Photographer of
the Year" award at the Cambridge Art Association's Members Prize Show
in 2005.
While this is part of a series that can loosely be based around
the ideas
of self-image, self-love, and self-reflection, it was made with less
lofty things in mind. I was wide awake at about four in the morning
and started making goofy faces into my makeup mirror. I then grabbed
my digital camera and started taking photos of the faces, and these
pieces came out of that silly bout of sleep-deprivation. |
